Throughout the past months the “Kotoko Equestrians, Guardians of the Soul – from the Pierluigi Peroni Collection” and accompanying programmes were visited by over a thousand visitors who, each in their own way, left us with their impressions of the exhibition and workshop.

Children expressed themselves using the language of art – by sculpting horsemen out of clay as part of the “Who is Kotoko” creative workshops, lead by Milica Josimov, sculptor. Don’t miss the opportunity to take a look at the results of these workshops which are displayed as a mini-exhibition of children’s artworks: “Who is Kotoko”.

Our adult visitors have almost completely filled our exhibition guest-book. Besides words in Serbian, there are impressions expressed in Hungarian, English, German and other languages, which were left by the numerous tourists upon their encounter with the “Kotoko Equestrians” at the Museum of African Art in Belgrade. The exhibition „Kotoko Equestrians, Guardians of the Soul“ showcases talismans of the Kotoko people, cast in bronze in the shape of miniature equestrian figures, which are only a few centimeters large. These talismans, known as the “Kotoko Equestrians” were worn as pendants on necklaces and bracelets and they had an important function of protecting a man’s soul from erratic spirits…
